UK police using smartphones to spend more time on the beat

Police officers who use smartphones are spending half-an-hour less per shift in police stations, according to Gary Cairns of the National Policing Improvement Agency. Using smartphones enables access to police databases and also enables officers to be briefed without returning to a police station. [Source: BBC News]
