Mobile broadband hasn't reached 1Mbps for most people

Although mobile broadband is advertised in the UK as having speeds of up to 7.2 Mbps, broadband comparison website Broadband Genie says 65% of users have only received data speeds below 1Mbps this year. The average speed was 0.87Mbps.

The company has conducted over 3,600 tests this year, with just 16 of them producing a speed of more than 3Mbps. At the other end of the scale, 39% of users only received a maximum 0.5Mbps. [News release]
