Opera acquires mobile advertising company AdMarvel

Yet another big name has bought a mobile advertising company. This time it's mobile browser company Opera acquiring California-based AdMarvel. AdMarvel isn't an ad network, instead it works with mobile publishers and operators to help them source, provision, manage and track advertising from virtually any ad network or direct sourced advertising inventory.

Opera says the acquisition will enable it to monetise advertising on Opera-branded mobile products and services.

Lars Boilesen, CEO of Opera Software, said "Mobile advertising represents an interesting long-term revenue opportunity. Together with AdMarvel we think we can play an important role in the evolution of mobile advertising".
