Mobile broadband sales have plummeted, says UK consumer website

Figures from mobile broadband comparison site Broadband Expert suggest the recent UK boom in mobile broadband sales is now over. It’s seen a 57% drop in the number of sales via its website during the last twelve months, falling from around 3,000 last May to 1,300 this year. It notes that online analysis company Experian Hitwise has recorded a similar drop – over 50% - in the number of internet searches for the phrase ‘mobile broadband’ during the same period.

Rob Webber, commercial director at Broadband Expert, said in a blog post that consumers had been let down by the technology, with slow speeds and poor coverage being the main factors.
