Truphone cuts call costs

VoIP service and virtual mobile network Truphone is cutting its costs for internet-based calls. From yesterday, VoIP calls to its 37 most popular calling destinations were reduced by at least 50%. This brings the cost of calls to the USA, UK, France, Australia and Canada down to just 1.3p per minute.

It's also reduced the cost of its monthly 'unlimited' bundle - TruUnlimited - to £7.99 per month. The interim TruSaver tariff, which offered discounted call costs for a monthly charge, is being discontinued.

VoIP calls to Truphone, Skype and Google Talk users remain free over WiFi and 3G from supported devices.
