Sony Ericsson adds more than 20 new mobile games to Xperia Play catalogue

Sony Ericsson is demonstrating its commitment to the PlayStation-certified Xperia Play smartphone by announcing more than 20 new games for the device, including 10 exclusive titles. All are optimised for the Xperia Play and will join the current list of more than 60 titles.

It also says additional games from Sony Computer Entertainment’s collection of classic PlayStation 1 titles will be coming to Xperia Play soon.

One of the new announcements is Minecraft by developer Mojang, which already has over eight million registered people using the desktop version. There’ll also be exclusive Android versions of Battlefield Bad Company 2 by Electronic Arts  and Tom Clancy’s Rainbow 6 Shadow Vanguard by Gameloft, along with forthcoming multiplayer sci-fi game Star Legends.

Steve Walker, Head of Marketing at Sony Ericsson, said “By building on the open Android ecosystem, we’re providing a brilliant opportunity for developers and game publishers to bring their best titles to new audiences and fantastic new experiences for Xperia PLAY owners. Keep watching this space.”
