RIM pushes BlackBerry BBM Music service with 6 months free use

The BBM Music service, which enables BlackBerry owners to share their favourite tracks with friends, has introduced an offer that gives up to six months free access for new users in the UK, Spain and Italy. New US and Canadian users will receive up to four months usage.

In addition, BBM Music - currently available in Canada, the United States, Mexico, United Kingdom, Spain, Italy, Netherlands and Australia - has been upgraded to v1.1. Users can now share their music choices as a ‘Profile update’ and can also give a BBM Music subscription as a gift.

BBM Music lets users store up to 50 songs in their profile. These can be shared with contacts, enabling users to enjoy a much larger music library. The service launched in the UK last year with a 60-day free trial.
