Brits want 4G to help the economy

Everything EverywhereResearch carried out by YouGov plc and published by Everything Everywhere shows that 74% of British adults want to bring 4G technology to the country as soon as possible. However, it’s the potential benefit to the economy that attracts the largest number of respondents rather than faster mobile phone connections.

The reasons given by those who wanted 4G to come to the UK as quickly as possible were:

Because they think it is important for the UK to catch up with other countries and stay competitive: 66%
Because they would like to access faster internet connections: 58%
Because it is important for the economy and job creation: 45%

Overall, 82% of British adults expressing an opinion believe that adopting new technology such as 4G networks is vital for Britain to remain competitive and protect jobs.

Olaf Swantee, CEO of Everything Everywhere, said “Consumers are calling for the fast and reliable broadband that 4G LTE can provide - and they want it now. With nearly three dozen countries, including many parts of Europe, Asia and America having already rolled out 4G, it is imperative that the UK moves forward with building a 21st century digital infrastructure as soon as possible.”
