10 million worldwide sales for LG Optimus L-series smartphones

LG Electronics says sales of its Optimus L-Series smartphones have exceeded 10 million units worldwide. The first L-series devices were announced at Mobile World Congress earlier this year.

All of the company’s L-series phones follow a design identity called ‘L-Style’, which was also introduced at MWC 2012. There are five main elements to the design, described by LG as Modern Square Style, Floating Mass Technology, Seamless Layout, Harmonized Design Contrast and Sensuous Slim Shape.

Four Android devices currently form the L-Series range: the Optimus L3 (with a 3.2-inch display), the Optimus L5 (4-inch display), Optimus L7 (4.3-inch display) and the Optimus L9 (4.7-inch display).

Dr Jong-seok Park, President and CEO of LG Mobile Communications, said “This milestone demonstrates the importance of delivering smartphones with stylish design, comparative size of display and enhanced UX features. Whereas other manufacturers are putting all their eggs into a one-size-fits-all phone, our strategy is to develop mobile products for all types of customers according to their individual needs and lifestyles.”
