Vodafone UK connects 100,000 customers to 4G

Vodafone UK says it has connected 100,000 customers to its 4G tariffs since they were launched seven weeks ago. The company currently covers much of the Greater London area with its 4G network, along with Birmingham, Coventry, Leicester, Nottingham and Sheffield. Liverpool, Glasgow and Manchester are due to be added in the next few weeks.

Customers are being offered a choice of either Spotify Premium or Sky Sports Mobile TV plus unlimited data for the first three months, double Vodafone’s standard 3G data allowances and an additional 4GB of monthly data if they sign up before the end of October.

Guy Laurence, Vodafone UK’s CEO, said “We’re giving people a reason to get excited about ultrafast 4G and more than 100,000 have already joined in. They’re getting closer to the action with Sky Sports or enjoying the tracks they want from the more than 20 million available on Spotify. We’re also giving busy businesses a boost by helping them take their office with them when they’re out and about. We’ve been switching on a new site in the London area every half an hour and now people in more than 80 towns and districts can enjoy Vodafone ultrafast 4G.”
