Sony stops producing eBook readers for consumers

It’s reported that Sony has decided not to introduce a successor to its consumer PRS-T3 eBook reader, although it’ll continue producing specialist business readers that use its ‘digital paper’ system.

The company closed its online eBook stores in the USA and Europe earlier this year, redirecting users to the Kobo store for book purchases.

According to the BBC, a Sony spokesperson said “We do not have plans to develop a successor Reader model at this time.”
