No deductions from text donations to Comic Relief

Donations by SMS to this year's Comic Relief "Red Nose Day" charity appeal will arrive in full without any deductions for network processing or VAT. 3, O2, Orange, T-Mobile, Virgin and Vodafone have agreed to waive their processing charges for premium SMS messages to the Red Nose Day charity appeal, while HM Treasury has confirmed that no VAT will be charged on the donations. This means that the full value of a £1 or £5 text message donation will be received. A £5 donation can be made by texting YES to 66609, while a £1 donation to the Red Nose Climb can be made by sending a text saying CLIMB to 88808. The donation lines close at midnight on 31st March 2009. [Source: Cellular-News.com]
