AQA launches do-it-yourself text alert service

Text information service AQA 63336 has launched AQA2U, which it’s describing as “a commercial micro-publishing service”. Quite simply, it lets anyone set up their own text alert service – and lets them make money from it, too. AQA2U is free to set up and pays between 7p and 9p per text message received by a ‘follower’. An organisation that sent no more than 14 texts a month to 25 subscribers could make £275 per year… and could make £3,000 a year with 250 subscribers. Subscribers pay 98p to subscribe to a topic and 25p per text, with a maximum 14 texts per month per topic – and an overall maximum of £3.50 per month for the texts. [Press release]
