New Venezuelan mobile offers much comedy value

The new Vergatario mobile phone, which was launched recently by Venezuela’s President Hugo Chavez, is causing some amusement. The camera and internet-equipped handset will retail for around £10 but its name is rather like a slang word that citizens of the Venezuelan city of Maracaibo use for penis: verga. The new phone is assembled in Venezuela from parts made in China; 600,000 are expected to be produced this year. [Source: Guardian.co.uk]
