Most digital photos are taken on mobile phones… and stay there

Mobile technology infrastructure company Ontela has published some research about camera phone usage. Its predictions suggest that almost two-thirds (62%) of digital photos taken this year will be from camera phones… yet Ontela says just 11% of photos uploaded to the Flickr picture-sharing website come from mobiles. Why?  Well, Ontela’s CEO suggests that people are finding it too awkward to post photos from their phones. (Or perhaps they’re showing restraint and only posting the good ones). Anyway, it seems the trend is shifting – apparently thanks to improved technology on devices and networks – which means camera phone users are starting to upload more and more.
