Symbian text message worm threat

There’s recently been much talk of a virus (technically a ‘worm’) created for Symbian devices and certified as a ‘Symbian signed’ application, which means users won’t receive many warnings about installing it. It’s called Yxe, Sexy Space or Sexy View and spreads itself by sending text messages to all the contacts in a user’s phone list. Each text message contains a link to a website that attempts to install a Symbian SIS file on Symbian S60 3rd Edition phones. [Sources: F-Secure.com; Telecoms.com; DarkReading.com]
