The UK connects to relax

Virgin Media has discovered that the UK’s population is happier when it’s around technology. Apparently two-thirds of us love being ‘connected’ and feel more relaxed when our technology is with us. This sizeable group has been defined as SOSOs - people who ‘switch on to switch off’ – and is also noted for being anxious when not able to use technology to stay in touch.

The survey, which was conducted by The Future Laboratory, also identified the Neo-Nest: the home of parents who stay connected through technology, often more frequently than their child-free peers. [Press release]
