It’s not smart to converge, says mobile phone inventor

Martin Cooper, who led the Motorola team that invented the handheld mobile phone, says today’s mobile devices are too complicated.

Speaking at a conference in Madrid, he said “Whenever you create a universal device that does all things for all people, it does not do any things well”.

Arguing against the trend of convergence, he added “Our future I think is a number of specialist devices that focus on one thing that will improve our lives”. [Source: Yahoo.com; Telegraph.co.uk]
