Nokia starts exchanging faulty chargers – but UK not affected

Nokia has started a ‘charger exchange program’ to replace potentially faulty Nokia-branded chargers made by a third-party supplier. The AC-3E and AC-3U models manufactured in June and August 2009 could be affected, as might the AC-4U model manufactured from April to October 2009. However Nokia says none of these chargers have ever been sold domestically within the UK as they don’t have UK plugs on them.

The potential fault involves the plastic cover of the affected charger coming loose, which could expose the charger's internal components. Consumers with one of the affected chargers are asked to stop using the device and to visit http://chargerexchange.nokia.com where they can claim a free replacement. [Press release]
