3 million Brits have used coupons on their mobile phones

A new survey from Juniper Research has revealed that more than 3 million consumers have used mobile coupons in the UK. It also suggests that the redemption rate for coupons on mobile phones is six times greater than the 1% response typically expected from paper coupons.

Over three-quarters of the people questioned were aware of mobile coupons, which can be sent via SMS, claimed from web sites or downloaded from 'smart posters' using Bluetooth. Juniper Research cites the Orange Wednesdays campaign as a prime example of a successful mobile coupon programme. [Survey; Juniper Research blog]
