2010 will be a big year for social, dating and gaming apps

Founder and CEO of independent application store GetJar Ilja Laurs has been making predictions for 2010 and the following years. He says social, dating and casual gaming apps will be particularly popular in 2010, with multi-platform applications most likely to succeed. However, he also reckons at least 90% of mobile app stores will fail within the next 18 months.

His other predictions for next year include the appearance of '$10 million-a-year' mobile app businesses. [Sources: gomonews.com; Mobile-ent.biz]
