Acer's first Android phone hits the UK – and plenty more are planned

The Acer Liquid A1, Acer's first Android OS smartphone, is now being sold SIM-free in the UK. It has a 3.5-inch WVGA touchscreen display, a 5 megapixel camera, GPS and a 768MHz processor. Meanwhile, the company says it plans to launch five or six more Android phones in the first half of 2010. Its Android-powered handsets will be produced at a range of price points, with models for business users and consumers. [Sources: Acer Liquid blog; PCWorld.com]
