Sonim Technologies, the manufacturer of rugged mobile phones, has launched its first rugged 3G handset in Europe. It's called the Xtreme Performance 2 (XP2) and is equipped with a 3-megapixel camera, a 2-inch scratch-resistant display and a tough, waterproof casing.

The XP2, which has a three-year unconditional warranty, will go on sale in March. It is IP-67 and MIL-810G certified, with protection against rain, fog, salt air, dust and is submersible in water to 1 metre for 30 minutes.
