Mobile payment company adds pay-by-call option

Mobile payment company mopay is introducing a new service called mopay call. It'll give online shops the option of letting customers pay by making a conventional telephone call from a fixed-line phone.

After selecting mopay call during an online check-out process, the customer will be prompted to make a phone call to a premium-rate number. They'll then be asked to enter a PIN code shown on the web page. In some cases the call will cost the relevant purchase price for the product, in others they'll be asked to stay on the line until it's automatically disconnected and payment has been taken.

Kolja Reiss, Managing Director of mopay Inc, said "Today, mopay sets the pace in the mobile payments industry and provides a global billing system tailored to meet the unique needs of online merchants. With mopay call, we are solidifying and expanding our market position and establishing mopay as the global leader in innovative alternative payment options."
