Mobile content revenue expected to increase by around 20% per year until 2014

Research and analysis business eMarketer predicts that revenue from mobile content in the USA will rise from less than $1.15 billion last year to more than $3.53 billion in 2014. That's a compound annual growth rate of nearly 20% during the five-year period.

Mobile gaming currently generates over half of all mobile content revenue, although mobile video – the second-largest category of content – is growing faster. However, the fastest growth will come from mobile music, which is expected to increase from 16.2 million US listeners last year to 52.2 million in 2014.
