Google Instant predictive search now available on smartphones in the USA

The Google Instant 'search-as-you-type' service that was launched in September on Chrome, Firefox, Safari and Internet Explorer browsers is now available on smartphones as well.

A beta version has been made available to iPhone iOS4 and Android 2.2 devices in the USA, although there's no news of a UK launch yet. Users simply go to google.com in their mobile phone's browser and tap the Google Instant 'Turn on' link beneath the search box. Google Instant then predicts what you might be searching for as you type. It can be switched off by following a similar process if necessary.
