Shazam and Alcatel announce a partnership for Android users

Music discovery service Shazam has announced a partnership with TCT Mobile, the company that produces Alcatel mobile phones. As a result, Shazam’s free Android application will be pre-loaded onto all Alcatel Android smartphones.

The partnership is being rolled-out in the UK, France, Italy, Guatemala, Mexico and New Zealand, with other countries following shortly.

Andrew Fisher, CEO of Shazam, said “Working with TCT Mobile brings us one step closer to helping people create and share unique music moments, whatever their handset or location. Android is significantly driving smartphone adoption and Shazam’s Android App on Alcatel devices is fast, accurate, reliable and full of features that make music discovery a joy.”

This Alcatel/Shazam partnership means that Alcatel Android phones now have more than 20 pre-loaded applications. Shazam currently has over 75 million users worldwide.
