ZTE says quarterly profit up 16 per cent

Chinese telecoms company ZTE Corporation says net profit for the first quarter of 2011 was up 15.86% to RMB 127 million (around £11.9 million). Operating revenue increased by 13.8% to RMB 15,085 million.

Sales revenue from terminal products grew by 51% year-on-year, mainly driven by revenue from the sales of 3G handsets, GSM handsets, CDMA handsets and data card products.
