Google launches mobile music streaming service

Google has launched a new music streaming service, although it’s only available as a beta version for US-based customers at the moment.

Music Beta by Google lets consumers upload their personal music collection and then stream it to their Android phone, Android tablet or computer. Recent tracks are also cached for playing offline on mobile devices. Music and playlists are synchronised across all devices registered by a user.

In addition, Google is adding movie rentals to the Android Market. Customers will be able to rent a movie on their computer from $1.99 and watch it on their Android tablet or phone. UK availability of this service hasn’t been confirmed.
