Ofcom quarterly data shows little change

Telecomms regulator Ofcom has published market data for the third quarter of 2008. It's calculated that total revenue across the four largest mobile network operators (O2, Orange, T-Mobile and Vodafone) increased by 1.5% compared to the previous quarter. Call revenue was up by 2.3% while SMS and MMS revenue fell by 2%. Despite the rise in call revenue, UK call volumes declined by 0.05% compared to the previous quarter, which is the first such fall since 2005. Total subscribers grew by 1.2% during the quarter to 68.2 million. [Ofcom report]
