Introducing the Camera Phone Predator Alert Act

American congressmen like to name their government bills so there's no confusion. Following the proposed Hang Up Act of 2008, which wanted to stop aircraft passengers from making phone calls, we're now being introduced to the Camera Phone Predator Alert Act. If it's passed, this act will do exactly what it says: require mobile phones containing digital cameras to make a sound when a photograph is taken because there's apparently evidence of children and adolescents being exploited by photographs taken in dressing rooms and public places with the use of a camera phone. No mention of conventional cameras or video recording... and very little evidence to suggest it's a significant threat. [Sources: Library of Congress; Obsessable.com]
