ZTE to sell its Firefox OS smartphone on eBay in the UK

ZTE, which recently launched its Firefox OS smartphone with Telefónica, says it’ll start selling the handset on eBay in the USA and the UK from Friday.

The unlocked ZTE Open will be available in an Orange casing and will cost £59.99 ($79.99) SIM-free.

Dai Wenhong, vice president of ZTE Corporation, said “It is great honor to launch the ZTE Open Firefox OS phone worldwide through eBay. ZTE is devoted to providing more options for customers globally and enabling them to live better lives via advanced technology. The ZTE Open offers customers a smartphone experience at an incredible price point, making it ideal for cost conscious consumers or those looking to upgrade to a smartphone for the first time.”

As well as offering standard smartphone features and the Firefox web browser, the ZTE Open also supports built-in Facebook and Twitter integration along with Nokia HERE maps.
