Mobile security specialist Lookout announces Samsung partnership

Mobile security specialist Lookout has announced a partnership that’ll see Samsung Electronics using Lookout as part of the Android-based Samsung Knox security and device management solution. In addition, Lookout says it’ll be launching its own business-specific mobile security product later this year.

Knox, which was launched as a ‘bring your own device’ tool for businesses, has recently been made available to consumers as well.

Dr Injong Rhee, Senior Vice President of the Knox Business Group at Samsung Electronics, said “We’re excited to partner with Lookout to bring an additional level of security to Samsung Knox. Lookout is the leader in mobile threat protection, and through attachment scanning and safe browsing they are uniquely equipped to address business mobile security and the evolving challenges in the BYOD movement.”

Last year, Lookout signed a deal to pre-install its Android software on selected new devices from EE in the UK.
