Nokia takes patent legal action against HTC, RIM and Viewsonic

Nokia has filed legal claims in the USA and Germany alleging that products from HTC, RIM and Viewsonic infringe a number of its patents.

The legal action includes a complaint to the US International Trade Commission against HTC, patent cases against HTC and Viewsonic in the USA, and court cases against all three companies in Germany.

Motorola Mobility quarterly results show increasing loss

The latest quarterly results from Motorola Mobility show a net loss of $86 million, more than the previous quarter ($80m) and the same quarter in 2011 ($81m).

Net revenue was $3.1 billion, a 2% increase year-on-year.

41 megapixel Nokia 808 PureView to start shipping in May

Nokia says its Nokia 808 PureView will start shipping from May.

The cameraphone, which was announced at Mobile World Congress, combines a 41-megapixel sensor with Carl Zeiss optics, and sophisticated imaging algorithms. Images can be produced at a maximum of 38 megapixels.
