Charles Dunstone invests in mobile payment business iZettle

Swedish business iZettle, which enables individuals and small businesses to take ‘chip and PIN’ card payments on a mobile phone (rather like Square in the USA), says it’s just received €8.2 million (£7.1 million) in funding.

The money has come from by Index Ventures with co-investor Creandum and further investment from Charles Dunstone, CEO and co-founder of The Carphone Warehouse.

Microsoft and Compal sign a patent agreement covering Android devices

The latest company to sign a patent agreement with Microsoft is Taiwan-based manufacturer Compal Electronics.

The new agreement provides coverage under Microsoft’s patent portfolio for Compal’s tablets, mobile phones and eBook readers running the Android and Chrome platforms.

Casio announces Android-based EPOS terminal for retailers

Casio has announced the VX-100 business support terminal; an Electronic Point-of-Sale terminal that includes a touch-controlled display and a built-in printer.

Most notably, it runs version 2.2 of the Android operating system.<.p>
