Orange and T-Mobile to spend £4 million promoting network sharing

Everything Everywhere, the UK communications giant behind the Orange and T-Mobile networks, is announcing the 'big switch-on' of its network-sharing scheme with a £4 million joint advertising campaign. The two brands will appear 'head to head' in conversation.

Windows Phone 7 devices to hit the UK on 21st October 2010

Today's the official launch of Windows Phone 7, the Microsoft mobile operating system that was announced in February. The company says Windows Phone 7 devices will go on sale from 21st October in "select European and Asian markets", with the USA seeing WP7 smartphones from 8th November on AT&T. In total, more than 60 mobile operators in over 30 countries have committed to offering Windows Phones.

LG launches its first Windows Phone 7 handset in the UK

Ahead of this afternoon's official launch of Microsoft Windows Phone 7, LG Electronics has launched its first Windows Phone 7 handset in the UK. The LG Optimus 7 has a 3.8-inch capacitive touchscreen and a 5 megapixel camera.

Transactional rail ticket app coming from thetrainline.com this month

Online rail ticket service thetrainline.com is planning to release a 'transactional' version of its mobile app later this month, enabling consumers to buy train tickets via their mobile phones. The current application, which is only available for the iPhone and other iOS devices, will be updated – and new versions will be produced for Android, BlackBerry, Nokia and other handsets.
