Mobile security company says smartphone infections up 33% on last year

Mobile security company AdaptiveMobile says this year has seen the highest-ever number of mobile malware infections aimed at smartphone users, with the total number of reports up 33% on 2009 figures.

New chairman for GSMA

The GSMA has elected Franco Bernabè, Chief Executive Officer of Telecom Italia, as its new Chairman for a two-year term from January 2011. He’ll take over from Alexander Izosimov, the CEO of VimpelCom Group.

Three UK introduces unlimited data deal

Three UK is removing the 1GB data allowance from ‘The One Plan’ – its flagship tariff – and is allowing unlimited use. The company is describing the deal as “All-you-can-eat Data”.
