More than half of UK smartphones run Android, says new research

New quarterly smartphone sales figures from Kantar Worldpanel ComTech show Android retaining its number one position in the UK, now accounting for 50.1% of sales.

Last year it led with 44.6%.

Most IT managers think 'Bring Your Own Device' offers competitive benefits

New research commissioned by BT shows that over 80% of IT managers think enterprises with a Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) policy have a competitive advantage over other organisations.

It’s a strong endorsement for allowing employees to use their own laptops, tablets and smartphones to carry out their employer’s work.

Smartphone owners now have even more apps on their handsets

New research from Nielsen shows how the adoption and usage of mobile apps in the USA has increased in the last 12 months.

The company notes that app usage has been driven by Android and iOS users, with one of these two operating systems being used by 88% of people who’ve recently downloaded an app.
