Mobile predictions for 2011 from Juniper Research

Juniper Research has published a list of the top ten trends for the mobile and wireless industry in 2011. 

Last year it expected mobile data traffic to strain network operators; something that’s expected to continue in 2011.

Three UK cuts international call costs for prepay customers

Three UK has cut the prices of calling international mobiles and landlines from the UK for ‘pay as you go’ customers. It’s extended the ‘prefix’ service it introduced in April, offering discounted calls to 25 destinations.

LG targeted by legal action from Taiwanese research organisation

Industrial Technology Research Institute, a Taiwan-based research group that’s linked to the country’s government, has accused LG Electronics of infringing 22 patents. The patents cover a wide range of products from mobile phones to air conditioners, although most seem to involve LCD screens.

Truphone renames its brand 'Tru' and announces desktop application for computers

Mobile VoIP and virtual mobile network operator Truphone has created a desktop application for its VoIP service. It’s also announced a new name for its brand: Tru.
