World's slimmest smartphone announced by Huawei

This week’s CES show has seen Huawei unveil what it’s described as the world’s slimmest smartphone.

The Huawei Ascend P1 S will be 6.68mm thin with a dual-core 1.5GHz processor and a 4.3-inch Super AMOLED touchscreen protected by Corning Gorilla Glass.

LG is the latest Android manufacturer to sign a Microsoft licensing deal

Microsoft and LG Electronics have signed a patent agreement that covers LG’s Android mobile phones and tablets under Microsoft’s patent portfolio.

It’s a wide-reaching deal that builds on an existing agreement and also covers any other LG consumer devices, including those running the Chrome OS.

Ofcom revises its proposals for UK 4G mobile coverage

Ofcom has announced a number of new proposals for making 4G mobile spectrum available in the UK.

There are revised plans for promoting competition and new measures designed to ensure 4G coverage is available to at least 98% of the population.
