Nokia buys browser company Novarra

Nokia is buying Novarra, a Chicago-based company that produces mobile internet browsers for network operators and handset manufacturers. The two companies already work together, with Novarra browsers seen on a number of Nokia phones. The deal is expected to be completed by the end of June 2010.

Orange UK introduces new dealer scheme from April

Orange has revealed a new programme for its UK dealers. The Orange Partner Programme, which was announced at Orange's recent Indirect Business Channel Conference, will launch at the beginning of April. In addition, a new revenue sharing agreement is due to be revealed in July. Orange is also extending the product range it offers its partners, with dealers able to sell Managed VPNs and the Orange Wirefree Extension later this year.

Apple iPhone named as biggest smartphone security risk

Network security and compliance auditing firm nCircle has just published a survey that says iPhones present the greatest smartphone security risk to businesses.

The San Francisco-based company surveyed 257 security professionals. 57% believed that the Apple iPhone carried the greatest security risk to enterprises, while 39% warned against Google Android, 28% named BlackBerry and 13% said Nokia had the highest risk.
