BOLT mobile browser reaches 20 million downloads in two years

The BOLT mobile browser, which was launched by Bitstream in February 2009, has now has been downloaded more than 20 million times.

In addition, Bitstream says BOLT users have streamed more than 130 million minutes of video and viewed nearly 2.3 billion web pages in the past two years.

O2 More now has two million opted-in mobile customers

O2 Media - the mobile advertising part of O2 - says its O2 More 'personalised media service' now has two million customers. It launched less than 1½ years ago in late 2009.

The O2 More service combines O2's own customer data with additional information provided by participating consumers. As a result, O2 More can offer personalised and even location-based advertising campaigns to its partners.

UK mobile termination charges to fall from 1st April

Ofcom has announced a reduction in mobile termination rates that'll be effective from next month. Mobile termination rates are the wholesale charges paid by mobile operators when connecting calls to their rivals.

The last time it set MTRs was 2007, when it agreed a series of charges that dropped annually until 2011.

Live sports scores added to the *Spark Android app

The *Spark home screen application for Android devices has been updated with a new sports module. Users in the USA can now see sports scores from major American football, baseball, basketball and hockey fixtures, while European users will have cricket and football results available in a couple of weeks.

*Spark is also the only official mobile partner of Groupon in the UK, offering targeted local discounts.
