ExclusiveGoogle quarterly results reveal revenue increase

Google has announced its results for the first quarter of 2012, with revenue up 24% from the same period last year.

It’s also planning what’s effectively a two-for-one stock split, giving existing share holders one new share of non-voting stock for every share they already have.

ExclusiveUSA plans stolen mobile phone database

Wireless communications trade organisation CTIA-The Wireless Association has announced that it’s been working with the US federal government, law enforcement agencies and a number of its members to help deter smartphone thefts and protect consumer data.

It’s introducing four voluntary industry commitments: implementing a database that’ll keep stolen phones offline, encouraging consumers to set up security on their new devices, informing users about ‘remote control’ security options and educating people about phone theft risks.

Sony Corporation says it’s going to transform its electronics business with a number of initiatives, including:

Strengthening the core businesses of Digital Imaging, Game and Mobile;
Turning the television business around;
Expanding business in emerging markets;
Creating new businesses and accelerating innovation; and
Realigning the business portfolio and optimising resources.
