Sony Corporation says it’s completed the transaction to acquire the other half of Sony Ericsson Mobile Communications; a 50% stake that was owned by Telefonaktiebolaget LM Ericsson.

It means Sony Ericsson is now a wholly-owned subsidiary of Sony.

Apple has won a patent-related court case against Motorola Mobility in Germany.

The ruling, which could be enforced as an injunction if Apple pays a bond to the court, stated that a number of Motorola Mobility smartphones infringed the ‘slide-to-unlock’ touchscreen patent owned by Apple.

Telefónica Digital has announced a global partnership with mobile commerce business Sybase 365.

It means Sybase 365 will help develop Telefónica’s mobile wallet, with the first Telefonica wallet services expected to launch commercially in Latin America and Europe during the first half of this year.

ExclusiveOpera Software acquires more mobile advertising businesses

Browser company Opera Software has announced the acquisition of two mobile advertising networks; US-based Mobile Theory and UK-based 4th Screen Advertising.

Two years ago, Opera acquired mobile ad service AdMarvel and later opened its own advertising scheme. This was followed by the creation of an Opera app store in 2011.
