Apple has announced financial results for the first quarter of its 2011 financial year, which is the three-month period that ended 25th December 2010.

Quarterly revenue was a record $26.74 billion with net quarterly profit hitting another record of $6 billion.

PC manufacturer Lenovo says it’s establishing a new business unit called the Mobile Internet and Digital Home Business Group.

The MIDH will be responsible for creating mobile internet-focused devices, including tablets and smartphones, as well as cloud computing, smart TV and digital home products.

ExclusiveUK consumers are increasingly using their mobile phones for shopping

Market research company ForeSee Results has published a report that shows consumers in the United Kingdom are using mobile phones more than ever for retail purposes.

32% of respondents had used their mobile phone to access a retailer's website, with an additional 32% indicating they planned to access retailer websites or apps by mobile phone in the future.
