Carphone Warehouse has published new research into the mobile web behaviour of 8 to 15 year olds in the UK.
The survey, which was compiled by YouGov, revealed that 2.8 million of these children - including almost a quarter of 8 to 12 year olds - had a smartphone.

The Carphone Warehouse Group plc has published an interim management statement for the third quarter of its current financial year.
It says its business in Europe performed strongly on post-pay (‘pay monthly’ deals) and non-cellular products, although a weakness in the lower-value prepay market resulted in like-for-like revenue being down by 4.7% when compared with the previous year. Overall, figures for the full year are expected to be in line with previous guidance.

The ‘big box’ stores set up by Best Buy Europe - the Best Buy joint venture with the Carphone Warehouse - will close on Sunday 15th January 2012.
It’s less than two years since the first UK store opened in Thurrock.

Tech news site The Inquirer has confirmed with Nokia that it’s only supplying the Lumia 800 smartphone to the Orange, T-Mobile, Three and Vodafone networks in the UK.
The Carphone Warehouse and Phones 4U will be selling the device SIM-free and on contracts.
