Nokia expects its Microsoft deal to be completed on Friday 25th April

Nokia has issued a statement about its mobile phone deal with Microsoft, which was first revealed seven months ago in September 2013.

It says the €5.44 billion sale is expected to be completed on 25th April 2014.

Stephen Elop to run Microsoft Devices Group when Nokia acquisition is finalised

Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella says former Nokia CEO Stephen Elop will join Microsoft as Executive Vice President of the Microsoft Devices Group as soon as the forthcoming Nokia acquisition is completed.

Mr Elop will report directly to Mr Nadella.

Microsoft announces Office for iPad, plus free Office Mobile apps for iPhone and Android

Microsoft has announced a handful of new and updated mobile applications, including the long-awaited launch of ‘Microsoft Office for iPad’.

This comprises three separate iOS apps - Word, Excel and PowerPoint for iPad - now available in the Apple App Store, along with an update to the OneNote app. The basic apps are free for viewing and presenting files.
