Ofcom says fixed-line and mobile companies aren't helping disabled customers enough

Ofcom says mobile and fixed-line communications providers need to do more to publicise services for disabled customers. It's just published the results of mystery shopping research that looked at telephone-based and online help available from BT, Orange, O2, TalkTalk, T-Mobile, Three, Virgin Media and Vodafone.

When it comes to mobile network coverage, the customer isn't always right

The adage that “the customer is always right” has apparently been disproved by a recent survey of mobile phone users.

Mobile News reports that virtual networks Virgin Mobile and Tesco Mobile outperformed their network partners in a recent customer satisfaction survey carried out by research firm YouGov for price comparison website uSwitch.

Ian Driver to leave indirect distribution role at Virgin Media

Industry veteran Ian Driver, who joined Virgin Media in March 2008 and was appointed as director of indirect distribution in 2009, is leaving the company. He's said to be looking for challenges outside the company, according to a report in Mobile News.

A million mobile customers have Virgin Media contracts

Virgin Media says the number of customers choosing 'pay monthly' contracts has increased by over 40% in the last 12 months – and it now has one million mobile contract customers.

Graeme Oxby, Virgin Media's executive director of mobile and home phone, said "We’re delighted to have reached the one million milestone as we continue to build on our unique ‘quad-play’ line-up of mobile, broadband, TV and home phone."

Virgin Media completes a major refinancing programme

Virgin Media, which offers a 'quad-play' combination of broadband, TV, fixed-line phone and mobile services in the UK, has completed a three-year refinancing programme. It says this has fundamentally changed the capital structure of its business, providing greater flexibility and scope for the use of any surplus future cash flow.
