Nokia has published quarterly results that show it's been overtaken by Apple in terms of smartphone sales.
16.7 million smartphones and 71.8 million other mobile phones were shipped in the three-month period. These figures are down from Q2 last year by 34% and 16% respectively.

Ofcom has published new research that looks at customer service satisfaction with the UK's largest landline, broadband, mobile and pay TV providers.
Thousands of consumers were interviewed in February as part of Ofcom's research and were asked to rate their customer service experience if they'd recently contacted their provider.

Google Labs developed a variety of prototype desktop and mobile products in an environment the company called its 'playground'. The new move will see some Labs experiments ended while others will be incorporated into different product areas.

Sandwich franchise Subway has launched a discount voucher scheme within the O2 More 'You Are Here' location-based advertising service.
Customers who've opted-in to receive marketing information will receive a MMS message when they're near a Subway store. The message will offer a discount and will contain a square barcode - a QR code - that can be scanned by store staff.

A new report from Juniper Research predicts that one billion smartphones will be shipped in 2016, up from 302 million last year.
That's more than a 230% increase, putting smartphones ahead of feature phones.
