...but the Microsoft Lumia 535 may not be destined for the UK
Microsoft has announced a new Windows Phone smartphone that’s the first Lumia device without ‘Nokia’ branding.
The Microsoft Lumia 535, which is available in single SIM and dual SIM versions, is expected to cost just €110 excl. VAT (around £103 incl. VAT) when it goes on sale this month.

Figures from Juniper Research show Samsung and Apple continuing to dominate the smartphone market, with newly-expanded Lenovo in third place.
It estimates that 316.6 million smartphones were shipped in the third quarter of 2014. That’s a 13.1% increase year-on-year.

Samsung Electronics has revealed two new metal-bodied smartphones aimed at younger consumers.
The Samsung Galaxy A5 is just 6.7mm thin and the Galaxy A3 is 6.9mm, making them the company’s thinnest-ever handsets.

LG Electronics has published its unaudited figures for the third quarter of 2014, with revenue up 7.4% year-on-year to KRW 14.92 trillion (£8.83 billion) and operating profit more than doubling to KRW 461.3 billion (£273.04million).
It says this reflects strong performance from its mobile business. which hit a new record for smartphone sales in the third quarter.
